Film Kids

Encouraging collaboration, creativity and critical thinking skills through hands-on, student-driven filmmaking.

Film Kids and classroom teachers collaborate to develop video production projects that support classroom, core subject learning. Through production of the films, with Film Kids instructors' help, teachers and students reinforce grade-level TEKS, SEL skills, and have fun demonstrating their learning!

Core Subject Learning - Through short narrative films, students explain their learning to a fictional character (i.e. caveperson, reporter, zombie, etc.)

Public Service Announcements - Students create short skits that demonstrate proper and improper campus behavior (i.e. recycling, washing hands, walking in the hallway, etc.)

School Documentary - Students create a documentary to teach others the unique, special qualities of their school.

Create Your Own Film! - Instructors develop TEKS specific projects with teachers and create original narrative stories (i.e. water cycle, folk tales, historical figure rap battle, etc.)

EXAMPLES OF EACH TYPE OF PROJECT ARE AVAILABLE TO SEE. REACH OUT TO FILMKIDS@FILMKIDS.ORG.
