ZACH Theatre
Professional Theatre for Schools | Theatre Education for Young Actors
ZACH offers professional children's theatre productions performed on ZACH's campus that address state curriculum standards through children's literature and cultural perspectives. ZACH also offers in-school programming in schools that supplement theatre education in classrooms.
THEATRE FOR SCHOOLS FIELD TRIPS
ZACH offers matinee performances of student-friendly and TEKS focused musicals and plays. Ticket prices are based on a sliding scale. Matinees can be found here.
PRE-SHOW WORKSHOPS
An in-school program where teaching artists go into individual classrooms of students who are attending a show at ZACH and facilitate an interactive workshop that promotes literacy, reading comprehension and prepares students to see a performance at ZACH.
BILINGUAL READERS THEATRE
A five-week residence where ZACH teaching artists work with students in small groups by adapting a bilingual book in a script. The residency ends with students performing a reading of the script in front of their school.
TECH THEATRE ENRICHMENT PROGRAM
In-school workshops and professional development that help Title 1 schools that lack resources to build strong theatre programs and help gain equity to schools with more resources. We will be teaching skills in set design, lighting, and costumes to help enhance low-income theatre productions and also give students employable skills in the tech theatre field.
MASTERCLASSES
For Title I Middle & High school teachers who would like to have additional support with their musicals and straight plays. ZACH directors, teaching artists, and design staff will visit your school to help get the best performances and technical work out of your students.
