Our writing programs empower students to find their voices and tell their stories.

ABC partners with local schools and nonprofit organizations to deliver high-quality writing programs and instruction to students ages 6-18. We offer a variety of creative writing programs including fiction & poetry as well as assistance with college and scholarship essays, resume writing, and more.

Austin Bat Cave is a creative community. Our writing programs empower students to find their voices and tell their stories.

ABC works with young authors ages 6 to 18 in Central Texas, primarily Travis County. We provide programs in creative writing, journalism, college essay writing, resume writing, expressive journaling, and more. We offer weekly after school programs and curriculum/in school support for elementary classes.

Austin Bat Cave is currently offering a variety of online programs this Fall for students in 3rd-5th grade.

Some of these workshops include a Scary Stories workshop, Dungeons and Dragons, and a Fairy Tales workshop.

We are also partnering with ACE at several AISD campuses to provide after school programming.

ABC teachers can visit your class virtually (and in-person depending on Covid-19 safety precautions) and lead creative writing workshops on poetry, fiction, comic book writing, and more!

Additionally, the Bat Mobile, our mobile library and creative writing classroom, is available to serve students in the Virtual Academy or small student pods. Visits to the bus include an interactive writing activity and free books to take home.
